Ruth Carey, once a photographer for the newspaper, the Oak Ridger, took photos for many different types of events from 1960 until 1994. Some of the events Mrs. Carey took photos for included play productions, weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, and events sponseored by the Oak Ridge Civic Music Association.
Oak Ridge Public Library, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, houses the Center for Oak Ridge Oral History as well as the Oak Ridge Room, a unique collection established to gather and preserve the records and history of the "Secret City."
Oak Ridge Public Library hopes that these collections will help reveal the history of the ‘Secret City’ to students, researchers and all other citizens.
